BURLINGTON — Chief Michael Kent and Executive Director Sharon Crowley of the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) Police Foundation, Inc. are pleased to announce that Cops for Kids with Cancer (CFKWC) presented a local 10-year-old boy and his family with a donation at Burlington Police headquarters on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
Brian Lee and his father, Chang Lee received a $5,000 donation from Cops for Kids With Cancer Tuesday morning to help cover the costs associated with his cancer treatment.
An application for support from Cops For Kids With Cancer was submitted on Brian’s behalf by the NEMLEC Foundation. Ed McNelley from CFKWC presented Brian, who suffers from a brain tumor, with the check Tuesday.
“We were happy to welcome Brian and his family to the station for this important donation,” Chief Kent said. “Hopefully this will help ease the financial burden during their difficult time, and we thank the NEMLEC Foundation and Cops For Kids With Cancer for making this donation possible.”
“It is always a great honor to work with Cops For Kids With Cancer,” Crowley said. “Their work has benefited hundreds of children and their families, and we are happy to support them as they make this donation to Brian as he bravely fights his battle.”
